Ken Anson has been in the homebuilding industry for 35 years. He is a second generation homebuilder, born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Ken got his start in the homebuilding industry by obtaining an internship with a large national homebuilder while in college. He is a graduate from the University of Florida where he received his BA in Construction Management in 1984. Ken has obtained extensive experience in all aspects of residential homebuilding serving in a variety of management and executive positions with some of the largest public and privately owned homebuilders in the country. His experience includes building several thousand homes throughout the Southeastern United States in such markets as Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Greenville, and most recently Charlotte, NC. He moved into the Charlotte market in 1997, where he resides today. In 2003, Ken and other partners launched Regent Homes, a privately-owned company, operating in both North and South Carolina. Ken maintained ownership in this company, and served as its President, until it was acquired by a large public homebuilder in October 2013. He maintains a contractor’s license in both North and South Carolina and previously served on the Advisory Council for the M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Construction at the University of Florida. Ken enjoys golfing and woodworking in his spare time, and serves on the Eagle Scout District Review board for the Gemstone District, BSA. He has been married to Karen since 1986 and has two sons, Chris and Kyle.
Tripp began his career in land development and home building in 1999. Since then, he has developed over 20 new home communities and built homes in various locations throughout Winston Salem, Clemmons, Greensboro, High Point and Lexington.

Tripp and his wife, Cindy, have been married for over 20 years and have three sons. He is an avid sports fan who also enjoys camping, trout fishing, and traveling with his family.
Jim Merrill received a BS in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1984. After graduating he moved to Atlanta Georgia where he worked as a construction supervisor for two different homebuilders before starting his own carpentry contracting business, supplying framing, siding and trim carpentry crews to area homebuilders. In 1993 Jim began a career with a large national homebuilder as an estimator and was transferred to Charlotte, NC to fill the role of purchasing manager in 1996. In the years following, Jim held different management positions with both a large national builder and a privately held homebuilding company before starting Southampton Homes with two other partners. Jim oversaw construction and operations for Southampton Homes. Southampton Homes grew to a 120 unit/year builder before it was closed in 2009. After closing the business Jim worked as a general contractor, specializing in the remodeling and renovation of existing homes. Jim maintains a general contractor’s license in the state of North Carolina. Jim has been a widower since June of 2015 and has no children. He currently resides in Charlotte, NC.
Steve Bailey has been in the homebuilding industry for over 25 years. Steve was inspired to enter the homebuilding industry after building his own home in the early 90s. Transforming a parcel of land into a place where families would enjoy life’s memorable milestones was intriguing to him and has become his passion. Steve’s primary focus in the beginning of his homebuilding career was sales and marketing of new homes. In the late 90s, Steve began managing sales teams and mentoring his teams in the construction and homebuying process. As a sales leader and executive, Steve has guided thousands of families and individuals through the homebuying process. In recent years, Steve’s role has been to identify new housing markets and expand product offerings in existing markets for a national homebuilder. In his 25+ years in the homebuilding profession, Steve has built numerous successful sales teams throughout North and South Carolina as well as Tennessee.
Steve is a local Carolinian. He spent his childhood in South Carolina and holds a BS degree from the University of South Carolina. He has maintained a Real Estate Brokers license in NC and SC since the mid-90s. He has lived in the Charlotte area for the past 25 years and enjoys the numerous activities the area provides such as road cycling, swimming, hiking, and golf. Throughout his professional career and personal life, Steve has taken the most pride from his role as Dad to his two adult children.
